Understanding the Biblical Meaning of the Stars
In Psalm 19:1-3, it says: “The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard.”
This passage reveals that the stars were set in the sky for our knowledge. They are a universal language, offering understanding without language barriers. Therefore, we conclude that the Lord placed the stars in our view to tell a story.
However, as John 8:44 says, the devil is “the father of lies,” and in 2 Corinthians 11:3, he aims to deceive. He takes the things of God and twists them to work against us. The stars were not placed in the sky to tell us who we are, define our future, or dictate relationships. They were never intended to be “horrorscopes” or means of divination but rather to tell a divine story.
Our identity is found in Christ alone. He knows the plans for us, and He guides our steps. When we align ourselves with horoscopes, we agree with the devil’s deception. Horoscopes are akin to witchcraft and fortune-telling, leading people away from the truth of God.
The stars were created by God, and they tell the story of The Redeemer—the story of Christ.
Jesus is the beginning and the end. Astrology starts with Aries and ends with Pisces, but according to biblical revelation, the story begins with Virgo and ends with Leo. Virgo represents the virgin with a fruitful seed, a symbol of the promise in Genesis 3:15 that God would enter humanity through a virgin. This is the beginning of the Messianic promise.
Each constellation following Virgo reveals part of the redemptive story. Libra symbolizes redemption, balancing the scales. Scorpio represents death, yet Sagittarius shows victory over it. Capricorn reflects new life from sacrifice, while Aquarius promises the outpouring of the Spirit. Pisces foretells unity through covenant, and Aries speaks to the fulfillment of God’s will. Taurus reflects unstoppable momentum in His return, Gemini promises our transformation, Cancer shows that we are God’s treasured possession, and Leo represents the Lion of Judah returning to reign eternally.

Repentance and Renunciation
This leads us to repentance. Agreeing with astrology or letting “star signs” define who we are is a form of spiritual compromise.
In Colossians 1:13, it says: “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.”
Involvement in astrology and horoscopes can create spiritual bondages to dark forces. These bondages can affect us on different levels—body, soul, and spirit—and carry specific “character” influences that impact our lives negatively. We must explicitly renounce and separate ourselves from these bondages.
Galatians 4:3-5 explains: “Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.”
Aligning with horoscopes essentially places them above God. By agreeing with horoscopes, we empower them over us, effectively worshiping them. Exodus 20:3-5 warns us: “You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me.”
Prayer to renounce star signs
In the Name of Jesus Christ, I come before God Almighty to renounce all ties to astrology, the star signs, and any powers or influences these signs might claim over my life. I reject the worldview that places human destiny under the control of the stars and planets, asserting instead that my life is governed by the Sovereign will of God, who created the heavens and the earth.
Each sign, from Aries to Pisces, is an attempt to assign certain characteristics, personality traits, and destinies to individuals based on the positioning of celestial bodies. These attributes often promote pride, self-centeredness, humanistic philosophies, or occult practices. They attempt to offer a false foundation, leading people to trust in the creation rather than in the Creator.
Today, I declare that my identity, purpose, and guidance are found solely in the hands of God. I reject all attempts to control my life through astrological symbols, elements, or planets, and I dedicate each area of my being to the true power and love of Jesus Christ.
Aries (21 March - 20 April)
Physical Relation to: Head, Eyes, Brain, Pineal Gland, Immune System, Muscular System
In the Name of Jesus, I reject and renounce any influence of the Aries sign. I deny the symbol of the ram and any association with aggressive, headstrong, or warlike tendencies. I refuse the attributes of impatience, impulsiveness, and the “I Am” self-centeredness associated with Aries. I pull out and remove Aries from my head and brain, declaring that my mind and spirit belong to Christ.
I sever myself from any pride, dominance, or competitiveness linked with this sign. My identity and strength are found only in God Almighty.

- Isaiah 40:31: “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
Taurus (21 April - 20 May)
Physical Relation to: Throat, Neck, Vocal Cords, Thyroid, Lower Jaw, Hearing, Tonsils
In the Name of Jesus, I renounce the Taurus sign and all associations with materialism, stubbornness, and earthly attachment. I reject the bull symbol and any attributes of possessiveness, indulgence, or resistance to change. I spiritually pull Taurus out of my throat, neck, and lower jaw, surrendering my voice and strength fully to God.
I refuse any influence of possessiveness or idolatry. My stability and provision come solely from God, who is my provider and sustainer.

Gemini (21 May - 21 June)
Physical Relation to: Chest, Breasts, Stomach, Lymphatic System, Digestive System, Womb
In the Name of Jesus, I reject and remove all Cancer influences, including the symbol of the crab and its associations with attachment, insecurity, and emotional manipulation. I pull out Cancer’s influence from my chest, stomach, and womb, declaring that my inner life and emotions are governed by God alone.
I renounce all dependency, possessiveness, and mood swings connected to Cancer. My security is in God, my rock and refuge.
Scripture:
- Psalm 18:2: “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust.”
Leo (23 July - 23 August)
Physical Relation to: Heart, Spine, Upper Back, Circulatory System, Vitality
In the Name of Jesus, I deny and renounce all influences of the Leo sign, including the lion symbol and any associations with pride, dominance, and self-glorification. I remove Leo’s influence from my heart and spine, declaring that my courage and strength are solely in the Lord.
I renounce all pride, vanity, and arrogance. I bow only to God, the true King.

- Proverbs 16:18: “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
Virgo (24 August - 23 September)
Physical Relation to: Digestive System, Intestines, Abdomen, Spleen, Nervous System
In the Name of Jesus, I reject and renounce all influence of the Virgo sign, including associations with perfectionism, criticism, and worry. I pull Virgo’s influence out of my digestive system and mind, submitting all my actions and thoughts to God.
I renounce self-criticism, worry, and anxiety, declaring that I am made whole in Christ.
Scripture:
- Philippians 4:6: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”
Libra (24 September - 23 October)
Physical Relation to: Kidneys, Bladder, Lower Back, Adrenals, Ureter
In the Name of Jesus, I deny and renounce any influence of the Libra sign and its association with indecisiveness, compromise, and superficiality. I spiritually pull Libra’s influence from my lower back, kidneys, and bladder, dedicating my sense of justice and harmony to God’s truth.
I renounce any imbalance, indecision, and dependency on others’ approval. I find my worth and strength in God alone.
Scripture:
- Psalm 62:1: “Truly my soul silently waits for God; from Him comes my salvation.”
Scorpio (24 October - 22 November)
Physical Relation to: Reproductive System, Pelvic Area, Genitals, Colon, Bladder, Urinary Tract
In the Name of Jesus, I reject and renounce the Scorpio sign and its associations with control, secrecy, and revenge. I spiritually remove Scorpio’s influence from my reproductive and urinary systems, dedicating my inner being to God’s purpose and purity.
I renounce any ties to resentment, manipulation, or unhealthy passions. My strength and peace come from the Lord.
Scripture:
- 2 Timothy 1:7: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Sagittarius (23 November - 22 December)
Physical Relation to: Hip, Thigh, Buttocks, Liver, Protein Synthesis, Fat Deposition in Tissue, Gaseous Exchange, Body Detoxification, Thymus Gland, Bodily Growth
In the Name of Jesus, I reject and remove all associations with the sign of Sagittarius. I deny the symbol of the bow and “whole” man, with its mixture of animal and spiritual nature. Specifically, I renounce the bow and arrow, which symbolizes strength and precision. In Jesus’ Name, I spiritually pull out and remove any influence of Sagittarius from my hips, thighs, and upper legs.
I cut myself loose from any connections with clairvoyance, discerning, sharp perceptions, favor, faithfulness, or strength that may come through Sagittarius. I renounce false zeal, philosophy, pride, and any striving for religiosity or what is “higher” in a humanistic sense. I commit fully to God Almighty, depending solely on the Fruits and Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

- Proverbs 19:2: “Desire without knowledge is not good, and to be overhasty is to sin and miss the mark.”
- Isaiah 9:6: “For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and His name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Capricorn (23 December - 20 January)
Physical Relation to: Bones, Skeleton, Knee, Joints, Skin, Ligaments and Tendons, Teeth, Spleen, Hair, Crystallization Processes, Formation of Stones
In the Name of Jesus, I reject the influence of Capricorn, including the goat symbol and any associations with the sea-goat, crocodile, dolphin, or sea-snake. I renounce the half-goat, half-fish image, as well as any symbolism of the winter solstice, the “gate of the gods,” or the power of the rising sun. I deny any connection to the goddess Cybele or the “musk” scent of the goat.
In Jesus’ Name, I spiritually pull out Capricorn’s influence from my knees. I cut ties with any association with strength, wisdom, pride, long life, invulnerability, or isolation. I deny all legality and all powers of earth that bring depression or loneliness. When I travel, I depend on the blood of Jesus Christ as my sole protection.
I fully submit to Jesus Christ alone, depending on the Fruits and Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

- 1 John 4:4: “Little children, you are of God and have overcome them, because He Who lives in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
Aquarius (21 January - 19 February)
Physical Relation to: Central Nervous System, Neurotransmitters, Meninges, Pituitary Gland, Rhythmic Flow, Spinal Cord, Shank (Lower Leg), Calf, Double-Jointed
In the Name of Jesus, I deny the influence of Aquarius, including the figure with the water amphora, any cycles or waters of the earth symbolizing destruction or renewal. I reject any belief that my life is controlled by life cycles. I declare that my times and my life are in God’s hands, submitting myself under His mighty hand.
In Jesus’ Name, I remove all Aquarian influence from my legs and feet, declaring that no stumbling block will prevent me from following God’s perfect will. I cut myself loose from any connection with Aquarius attributes of health, commitment, wisdom, and honor. My knowledge and perception come from the wisdom of Jesus Christ alone.

- Proverbs 2:6-7: “For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity.”
Pisces (20 February - 20 March)
Physical Relation to: Hormone System, Fontanelles, Epiphysis, Processes of Diffusion/Osmosis, Feet
In the Name of Jesus, I deny the influence of Pisces, including the symbol of two fish in opposite directions. I renounce any cycles that might influence my life and affirm that my life and times are under God’s control.
I reject all powers of the water element and declare that my life is directed by the will of God. I renounce any influence over my feet and ankles, declaring freedom from any dependence on “destiny” linked with Pisces. I rest in the perfect will of God alone.
I renounce hypocrisy, lies, religiosity, longings, and false humility. I submit fully to Jesus Christ, depending on the Gifts and Fruits of God’s Holy Spirit, worshipping and serving Jesus alone.
Scripture:
- Job 33:28: “[God] has redeemed my life from going down to the pit, and my life shall see the light!”
In these declarations, I reaffirm my commitment and dependence on Jesus Christ alone. I turn away from any influence or power associated with astrological signs and submit myself fully to the authority, guidance, and protection of the Holy Spirit.
