Prayer Request: Personality Disorder

Recently, we received a prayer request for someone struggling with challenges related to a personality disorder.

We want to remind you that God did not design His children to live in confusion, brokenness, or fragmentation. He is not the author of disorder or fear. Every person is created in His image, and His desire is for us to walk in wholeness, peace, and freedom.

If you or a loved one are facing similar struggles, we hope this prayer will bring encouragement and hope. You are not alone, and God’s power to heal, restore, and renew is available to everyone who calls on Him.

Prayer for a Personality Disorder

Abba Father,

We come before You today with thanksgiving and praise. Lord, thank You for ____ (say the person’s name). Lord, hear his / her cry.

You formed him / her in his / her mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). You knew him / her before he / she was born, and You know the plans You have for him / her (Jeremiah 29:11). It is not Your design for Your children to live in brokenness or fragmentation.

Lord, if there is any door that _____ has opened, intentionally or unintentionally, that has resulted in brokenness or disorder within his / her personality and identity, we ask that You close those doors now in Jesus’ mighty Name. As a representative of his / her bloodline, we repent for any generations before him / her that may have opened doors to iniquity, trauma, or bondage. Your Word says that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Father, we ask that every part of _____ that has been broken, stolen, suppressed, or fragmented be restored to her now in Jesus’ mighty Name. You are the God who restores the years the locust has eaten (Joel 2:25). Restore his / her wholeness. Restore his / her soundness of mind. For You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

Lord, remove sins, transgressions, and iniquities as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). Blot them out and remember them no more. Through the blood of Jesus, silence every accusation of the enemy. Let the accuser have no legal right to access her mind any longer (Revelation 12:10–11).

Lord, You said that we are new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). We claim _____ true identity in Christ now. He / she is not defined by disorder, labels, or past wounds. He / she is defined by who You say she is: chosen, redeemed, healed, and an overcomer (Romans 8:37).

Renew his / her mind (Romans 12:2). Bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Strengthen him / her and guide his / her path (Proverbs 3:5–6). Let Your Word increase in his / her life and prevail, just as it did in Acts 19:20. May You increase and every false identity decrease (John 3:30).

We plead the blood of Jesus over ____. Let every chain of bondage be broken. Let freedom manifest in her mind, soul, and body. You are the Lord who heals (Exodus 15:26). You are the Lord who sets free (John 8:36).

Nothing is impossible for You (Luke 1:37). We trust You fully for his / her restoration and wholeness.

In Jesus’ mighty Name,

Amen.
