Prayer Against Dream Stealers
The Joseph Anointing
I believe I carry the Joseph anointing – a unique grace from God that marks those who are dreamers, visionaries, and interpreters of divine purpose. Like Joseph in the Bible, I often receive insight and direction through dreams, and it’s one of the primary ways God speaks to me.
The Joseph anointing refers to the spiritual calling and gifts that Joseph, son of Jacob, carried. He was a dreamer and an interpreter of dreams (Genesis 37, 40-41), and through his God-given wisdom, he rose from the pit to the palace, becoming a ruler in Egypt and a vessel of provision and preservation during famine. This anointing represents vision, divine insight, resilience, and leadership in difficult circumstances. It’s the ability to steward revelation from God and walk in destiny despite delay, betrayal, or misunderstanding.

Background
Recently, I’ve been waking up during the night, aware that I had a dream, but no matter how hard I try, I just can’t remember it. One particular night, I woke up again, deeply frustrated because I sensed the Lord was trying to speak to me. I asked the Holy Spirit, “What is going on? Why can’t I remember?” A thought came to mind: this is not just forgetfulness – it’s spiritual warfare. An external force is working against me.
So I wrote this prayer to combat this attack.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
I come before You to combat every vagabond spirit, dream stealer, dream eraser, spirit of witchcraft, and every force that works alongside them. I bind every demon that seeks to attack my mind and dream state, and I bring the blood of Jesus Christ between us.
Tonight, I appoint angels to stand guard at the north, south, east, and west, above, below, and across every dimensional access point, in Jesus’ name.
I offer up my dreams, visions, mind, and all related components as a free-will offering in Christ. I repent for every intentional and unintentional ungodly use of these parts of my body. I specifically repent for ever owning a dream catcher and for participating in this form of witchcraft by putting my faith in anything other than You, Lord.
I receive cleansing by the blood of Jesus and Your living water. Let my dreams, visions, and mind be anointed with fresh heavenly oil. I bless these parts in Jesus’ name and call them sanctified.
I declare that no attack against my dreams will prevail against the voice of the Most High God. I declare that I have ears to hear and eyes to see what the Spirit of the Lord is saying (Proverbs 20:12, Matthew 13:16, Mark 8:18). I break all curses on the hearing and seeing of God’s word that are operating against me, by the blood of Jesus.
Father, I know You use dreams to communicate with me, to give insight, reveal spiritual activity, deliver good news, and send warnings. For it is written in Genesis 20:3 – “But that night God came to Abimelech in a dream and told him…” and it is written in Job 33:14-15 – “For God speaks in one way and in another, yet no one notices. In a dream, in a vision in the night, when deep sleep falls upon men as they slumber in their beds.”
Lord, I ask that You turn Your eye toward the forces hiding in the dark. I decree and declare that everything on the earth and under the earth is subject to You, and that the secret works of my enemies will be exposed. Jesus, I stand on Your promises that the Holy Spirit will bring to remembrance all that You have said to me. For it is written in John 14:26 – “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and will bring to your remembrance all things that I have said to you.”
Therefore, I declare that my dreams will be clear, and I will remember them in Jesus’ name. For You have said that you will repay and we will receive a hundred times (Joel 2:25, Mark 10:29-30)
I take hold of these promises, Lord. I declare that every dream in which You have spoken to me will return to my memory. I receive a complete and full restoration of my memory.
Holy Spirit, please restore and revive all my stolen dreams now, in Jesus’ name. I rebuke and renounce every covenant and contract with dream erasers. I bind them with a three-strand cord that cannot be easily broken, and I command them to never return.
I cover my mind with the blood of Jesus Christ. I declare that my mind is clear and blessed. My memory bank is conscious of all revelations, warnings, visions, and angelic visitations given during my time of rest.
I also come as a representative of my bloodline. I bind every generational dream eraser that has operated through my family lineage. I cast them out to where Jesus sends them and declare that our bloodline is washed clean from these evil spirits by the blood of Jesus Christ. I declare that my memory is no longer under the restraint of dark powers. I disable and debilitate every demon of the night polluting my mind.
Thank You, Heavenly Father, for hearing and answering this prayer.
