Prayer Request: Freedom from Rejection and Negative Patterns in a Family Bloodline

Recently, we received a prayer request from someone asking for prayer regarding feelings of rejection and negative patterns that seem to run within their family bloodline.

Many people struggle with deep wounds caused by rejection, whether through difficult relationships, generational struggles, or painful experiences in life. The good news is that God’s Word reminds us that through Jesus Christ we are no longer defined by the past. In Him there is freedom, healing, and restoration.

The Bible tells us that Christ redeemed us from the curse (Galatians 3:13), and that whom the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36).

Below is a prayer for breaking patterns of rejection and asking God for healing, protection, and restoration. We pray that this prayer will bring encouragement and hope to anyone facing similar struggles.

Prayer for Freedom from Rejection and Negative Patterns in a Family Bloodline

Abba Father,
We come before You today with thanksgiving and with praise. Lord, we lift up ____ (insert name) before You.

Lord, we thank You for ____, and that You created him / her for a time such as this (Esther 4:14). We thank You that he / she is on a journey with You, that she is seeking Your face and Your presence (Jeremiah 29:13).

Your Word says that where two or more come into agreement, the thing will be established (Matthew 18:19–20). We are coming together in agreement, Lord, and we ask in Your mighty name that You protect him / her by the blood of Jesus. Let the blood of Jesus form a hedge of protection around him / her (Exodus 12:13; Psalm 91:1–4).

We declare that all curses that were spoken over him / her be broken now in the name of Jesus (Galatians 3:13). We break off any negative impact they have had on his / her life (Isaiah 54:17). We speak blessings over him / her (Proverbs 10:22), and we declare that the plans You have for her are greater than the plans of the enemy (Jeremiah 29:11; Romans 8:28).

We stand in the authority that You have given to us (Luke 10:19) and we say: no more.
No more will the devil use and abuse the people around ____ to curse him / her (James 4:7). Enough is enough. We draw a line in the sand and we say no more.

He / she will rise like the royalty that he / she is in You (1 Peter 2:9).
He / she will rise as the son / daughter of the Most High King (Galatians 4:6–7).
Nothing can come against him / her, because You are for him / her (Romans 8:31).

Lord, we come before You today as representatives of ____’s bloodline, and we ask for forgiveness where anyone in this bloodline, whether knowingly or unknowingly, opened the door to rejection (Nehemiah 1:6–7). Remove these sins from them as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). Blot them out so that they can never be remembered again (Isaiah 43:25), and remove any evidence of them in heaven and on earth (Colossians 2:14).

We ask that this bloodline be washed clean of all curses (Ezekiel 36:25).
We declare that the door which allowed the spirit of rejection to enter the bloodline is now closed, now and forever (Isaiah 22:22). We ask that You seal this door with the blood of Jesus (Revelation 12:11), and that Your living waters would fill the bloodline (John 7:38).

We speak life, and we speak it abundantly (John 10:10).
We speak peace (John 14:27).
We speak unfailing love and acceptance into this family (Romans 8:15; Ephesians 1:6).

Lord, we ask that You heal any part of ____ that has been broken by rejection (Psalm 147:3). We ask that he / she experiences the love that You have for him / her (Romans 5:5), and that he / she will tangibly feel the acceptance he / she has in Your royal family (Ephesians 1:4–5).

Lord, You said that if Aaron speaks this blessing over the children of Israel, You will bless them (Numbers 6:22–27). So we come before You today to bless ____ with this same blessing, that You might bless him / her and his / her family:

“The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
The Lord lift His countenance upon you and give you peace.”

Thank You, Lord, that You are our Father and that You hear our prayers (1 John 5:14). Thank You that from now on ____ will walk in the freedom that the Lord Jesus gave to us on the cross (John 8:36). Thank You that every foothold of the enemy is broken (Ephesians 4:27).

In Jesus’ mighty name we pray,
