Prayer Request: To be closer to our Creator

Recently, we received a prayer request from someone who expressed a desire to grow closer to our Creator.

The Bible reminds us: “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” — Jeremiah 33:3

Below is a prayer for drawing closer to God. We hope that this prayer will encourage you as well in your own walk with Him.

Prayer to be closer to our creator

Abba Father, we come before You with thanksgiving and praise (Philippians 4:6). Lord, You are the Creator of the universe (Genesis 1:1), and we know that nothing is impossible for You (Luke 1:37). Lord, we look at You with awe, realizing that there is no one greater than You (Jeremiah 10:6). It is You who set the earth and the stars in their place (Psalm 8:3), and we realize that everything above and below belongs to You, Lord (Psalm 24:1).

It is written that if we seek first the Kingdom of God, all things will be added unto us (Matthew 6:33). Lord, we are seeking Your face (Psalm 27:8). It is written that if we draw closer to You, You also draw closer to us (James 4:8). Lord, we come to You, seeking Your face, show us Your goodness and Your glory (Exodus 33:18–19; Psalm 34:8).

As we seek You, we also get to know who we are in You (Ephesians 2:10). Lord, help us to draw close to You and to keep You at the center of our lives (Colossians 3:2). Lord, we know that You will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6; Hebrews 13:5). You pull us closer (John 6:44).

We thank You that You are our Father (Romans 8:15), that we are Your children (John 1:12), and that nothing can come between us (Romans 8:38–39). You look after us (1 Peter 5:7; Psalm 23:1).

Thank You, Abba Father. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
