Prayer to Break Free from Victimization and Codependency - If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

Prayer to Break Free from Victimization and Codependency

Arise, Oh Lord, and do not forget the afflicted. The greedy and wicked have taken advantage of the weak and unfortunate. They disdain You and set traps in hidden places, causing the unfortunate to fall. Lord, do not hide Yourself. I know You will hear the desire of the humble and strengthen their hearts. You vindicate the orphan and the oppressed. I commit myself to You.

I repent for my past generations and myself for being frozen in fear when faced with situations beyond our control. Forgive me for not believing that You, Lord, can work all things for good according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). I now allow myself to walk confidently through life’s situations, with the help of the Holy Spirit, in Christ, wearing the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18).

In Jesus’ name, I repent and renounce for myself and my generational line for accepting victimization due to fear of persecution, peer pressure, or fear of the future. Lord, break off all manipulation, timidity, and false guilt that has come against me and my lineage. Help me to trust that You care about me and my welfare, and that my flaws and sins are not beyond Your power to redeem.

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."
- Romans 8:28

Forgiveness and Release of Generational Pain

On behalf of myself and my ancestors, I choose to forgive all those who brutalized, raped, subjugated, bullied, enslaved, tortured, slandered, or controlled us. I forgive those who persecuted us due to gender, race, physical disability, mental illness, or age. I forgive those in authority who victimized me and my lineage, those who turned their backs on us, and all who betrayed, abused, or experimented on us. Remove all consequences of human trafficking and slavery, Lord.

I repent and renounce the false identities imposed on me and my generational line by society, including misidentification as homosexual or transsexual. Lord, help me come out of these false identities. I also repent for adopting the identities of others and creating false personalities. Cleanse me from all distortions and realign me to my true identity in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Releasing Blame and Responsibility

I release all false responsibility and assigned blame from: Government officials, religious leaders, parents, teachers, classmates, peers, siblings, spouses, employers, coworkers, law enforcement, judges, doctors, medical personnel, psychiatrists, counselors, and brothers and sisters in Christ.

Coming before you, I repent for generational comparisons that created a performance mentality, and for dishonoring parents by manipulation or division (Ephesians 6:1-4).  I repent for all who gave away the inheritance and birthright, and for all who stole another’s birthright causing division (Genesis 25:29-34).

Healing from Ungodly Influences

I repent for watching ungodly movies and for any time I became entangled in their scenes, including occult literature. Cleanse me from all fantasy systems and mental pathways that distort reality. Lord, sanctify my imagination and bring me into Your truth. I repent for prioritizing relationships with animals over fellow humans, and for any part I or my ancestors played in exterminating species. Teach me to be a steward of Your creation as You intended (Genesis 2:15). Lord please teach me to have empathy and compassion with wisdom and understanding towards your creation.

Breaking Free from Addictions and Codependency

Lord, I repent for all addictive behaviors and codependency on social networks, emails, and digital communication. Break all ungodly relational networking and give me wisdom about true relational communication. Break all soul ties with ungodly connections and align my relationships with Your truth.

Renouncing False Identities and Roles

Remove all distorted perceptions of my identity. I welcome back all parts of me that have been fragmented or scattered. Cleanse and realign them to Your divine order. Grant me the liberty of Your Spirit, Lord, to behold You with an unveiled face and be transformed into Christ’s image. Lord, I want to be renewed in the spirit of my mind (Romans 12:2).

Breaking Generational Vows and Curses

I renounce any vows of retaliation or death made by myself or my ancestors. Break all self-made protection, false shields, and curses spoken out of fear and pain.  Deliver me from isolation, ungodly independence, and rejection. I repent, Lord, for speaking death and cursing others (Proverbs 18:21). I choose to forgive all those who rejected and shut me down and falsely accused me and further empowered the curses already against me. I repent for keeping an inventory of a record of wrongs done to me, and for hardening my heart in bitterness (Hebrews 3:8). Lord, I admit that I have received offense because of my miscommunication and misunderstanding. Cleanse the sound waves and land empowered by my generational discord and strife.

Repenting for Jezebel Spirit and Control

I repent for any manipulation, control, and mind games used to victimize or dominate others, for jealousy, arguments, and schemes. Deliver me from the Jezebel spirit and all ungodly control over others’ lives, including my own ministry or job.

I repent for all:

  • Rebellion, Emasculation, Control, mind control, religious control
  • Set ups, schemes, traps.
  • Lies, deception
  • Jealousy, envy
  • Contention, arguments
  • Trickery, craftiness
  • Thievery, debt
  • Pulling on others anointing
  • Competitiveness and comparing
  • Stubbornness and obstinacy
  • Cursed or killed the children of God

I repent for judging others solely on their appearance. I repent for presumption and not using the gifts of wisdom, knowledge or discernment given to me. I repent for using the gift of discernment for critical judgment and not guarding my heart. Lord, I choose to celebrate others and use the gift of discernment to search for a heart of gold (1 Corinthians 12:10).

Restoration of Identity and Health

Lord, forgive me for using sickness to escape responsibility or manipulate others. I repent and ask you to remove the consequences of all addictive, compulsive, deliberate and impulsive behavior. I repent for all self-inflicted pain against my body. Heal all emotional and physical scars caused by self-abuse, addiction, or compulsive behaviors. Lord, will you now deliver me and my generations from all emotional and physical scarring from: Cutting, burning, punching, and pulling out hair, biting, tattooing, head banging, scratching, withholding food or binge eating, and holding my breath. Cleanse my body, mind, and spirit from all harm, and renew my understanding of my body as the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

Now please show me how to recognize and capture every thought and behavior in obedience to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Lord, will you please break the repetitive physical and mental cycles of learned behavior. Lord remove all speculations, vain imaginations, and suspicions exalted up against the knowledge of God.

Repenting for Codependency and Performance Mentality

I renounce codependency, control over my children, spouse, or environment, and the need to solve everyone’s problems. Help me enter Your rest, trusting in Your design for my life. I acknowledge that I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and I ask You to search my heart and lead me in Your ways (Psalms 139:23-24). Lord, I repent for assuming responsibility for problems that I was not meant to have. I renounce all ungodly agreement, codependency and all enablement. You may use my spirit as a lamp. Find any offense in me and lead me in the way of everlasting.

Healing from People-Pleasing and Procrastination

I renounce seeking validation from others and the addiction to approval. I repent for procrastination, for doing nothing in situations where I should have stood up, and for internalizing feelings. Help me to respond with Your wisdom and grace in all things.

You, Lord, have performed and accomplished all things, calling forth the generations from the beginning (Isaiah 26:12). I choose to believe that my vindication is my heritage and that the righteous will live by faith. Father, set me in the land of the living, where I will see Your goodness. Connect me to the inheritance You have for me in Christ Jesus.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, You will establish peace for us, For You have also done all our works in us.
- Isaiah 26:12
