A Prayer over our tithe and offering - Leviticus 27:30

A Prayer for Tithing

Abba Father,
I come before you today as I prepare to bring my tithe and offering to your storehouse. Lord, I thank you for blessing me with the ability to give, for looking after me, and for providing me with the seed to sow (2 Corinthians 9:10).

Lord, I acknowledge that this tithe does not belong to me, but to you (Leviticus 27:30). As I return this tithe to you, I attach my faith to it, believing that You will do great and miraculous things with it. In Malachi 3:10, you promise that if we bring our tithe to your house, You will throw open the floodgates of heaven.

"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this," says the Lord of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field," says the Lord of hosts.
- Malachi 3:10-11

Abba Father, you are a good and loving Father. You look after me, you are always with me, and you provide for my needs. It is You who goes before us to level mountains, break down gates of bronze, and cut through bars of iron (Isaiah 45:2). I offer this tithe in thanksgiving for your grace and mercy in my life, and for making my paths straight.

As I practice your biblical principles of giving, I ask that you bless this tithe. Just as you promised in Malachi 3:11, that it is You who prevent the locusts from devouring my crops. I understand this as your protection over my assets and finances against the enemy who comes to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10).

I also bring before you Deuteronomy 8:18, remembering that it is You who gives me the power to get wealth. This tithe is what I can offer back to you in gratitude and obedience.

Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.
- 1 Corinthians 4:2

Lord, I trust in your faithfulness and your promises. As I give, teach me to be a good steward of all that you have entrusted to me (1 Corinthians 4:2). Help me to give not reluctantly or under compulsion, for you love a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7).

I ask that you receive this tithe and use it for the advancement of your kingdom and the blessing of others. May it be a testament to your goodness and provision in my life.

In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
